Years ago, I was working with a graphic design and print business on Dupont near Bathurst. Our press operator, Brendan had a 9-year old daughter, Sharon Morningstar Keenan, who went missing and was later found murdered in the neighboured close to our shop. A suspect was later identified, but never found by police.
Sharon’s death was a shattering experience for her family and left many of us scarred. This song came to me years after the fact and, with Brett’s guidance, was recorded live in a raw and unaffected style. As it comes to an end, my own composure comes apart, just like it did for months, and even years after Sharon was taken.
